Presentation

Fall. SOB with extensive bruises to the top of the chest and pain radiating to the back. Pneumothorax?

Patient Data

Age: 90 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Extensive bilateral calcified pleural plaques.

Mild cardiomegaly. Lungs clear.  No pneumothorax.

Case Discussion

Widespread calcified pleural plaques are typical of prior asbestos exposure.
