Callosal dysgenesis and lipoma

Case contributed by A.Prof Frank Gaillard

Case Discussion

MRI and US of the brain of an infant demonstrates dysgenesis of the corpus callosum, with only the genu seen. In the midline is an interhemispheric lesion which is of high T1 signal, and demonstrates signal drop out on fat-saturated sequences. On ultrasound it is diffusely echogenic.

Features are consistent with corpus callosum dysgenesis with an associated intracranial lipoma
