Carcinoma of the cervix - squamous cell

Presentation

Post menopausal bleeding per vaginum

Patient Data

Age: about 60 yrs
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Uterine cervix shows altered contour. Cervix is much larger than uterine body. Posterior cervical lip is much thicker. Air foci are noted in cervical canal.

Small amount of anechoic fluid is noted in endometrial canal of body.

A hypoechoic solid nodule with vascularity is noted in adjacent soft tissue  ( 4th image ).

No hydroureter / hydronephrosis is noted on either side.

Case Discussion

In the clinical backgraound, ultrasound findings favor neoplatic malignent mass lesion of uterine cervix with local metastatic nodule.

Histopathology - Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma of cervix.
