Routine screening mammogram

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

The mammogram confirms the right nipple retraction but is otherwise unremarkable. As a result of the observation the patient is recalled for right breast ultarsound.

The mammography technologist notices right nipple retraction not seen by the patient. 


Taller-than-wide hypoechoic lesion that shows marked posterior shadowing.

Confirmed small carcinoma right breast on biopsy under ultrasound guidance. The answer is often on the technologist worksheet.
