Carcinoma right breast with metastatic lymphadenopathy

Case contributed by Garth Kruger
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Lactating patient presents with an enlarging mass at 6 o'clock right breast.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

On ultrasound, the patient had a 5.5 cm solid lobulated lesion. The lymph nodes in the right axilla were enlarged.

Biopsy confirmed IDC and FNA confirmed metastatic lymphadenopathy.

After 2 months of neo adjuvant therapy the lesion has shrunk to juts more than 3 cm in diameter.

After almost 4 months of therapy the lesion measures 8 mm and the lymph nodes in the axilla are morphologically normal.

Case Discussion

A spectacular response to neoadjuvant therapy in a young patient with a very large breast carcinoma.
