Strongly enhancing mass splaying the internal and external carotid arteries on left side.

Case Discussion
The patient went on to have a resection.
Histology
The tumour shows marked nuclear atypia focally, not an uncommon finding in carotid body tumour, which is of no significance. There is no evidence of vascular or capsular invasion.
Final diagnosis: carotid body tumour
