Presentation
Headache. On examination, there was systolic hypertension. Auscultation revealed increased breath sounds which were hoarse in nature.
Patient Data
There is a large avidly enhancing soft tissue mass in the anterior triangle of the right neck at the carotid bifurcation with characteristic splaying of the ICA and ECA.
In addition, the pulmonary windows show multiple dilated bronchi (bronchiectasis) in the left lung, especially in the lower lobe associated with left hemithorax volume loss. There are also multiple nodular opacities with tree-in-bud pattern in the posterior segment of the right upper lobe.
Case Discussion
This case demonstrates probable carotid body tumor and bronchiectasis.
