Left sided neck pain and swelling

Patient Data

Age: 60 - 65 years
Gender: Male

Smooth circumferential wall thickening of the upper left CCA and lower ICA with adjacent fat stranding. No luminal narrowing. No focal collection.

Case Discussion

Carotidynia or Fay syndrome is usually secondary to migraine, but maybe be due to focal carotid arteritis. It is self resolving.
