Chronic left wrist pain with swelling at the dorsal aspect.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
mri

Bony protuberance at the articulation site of third metacarpal base and capitate bone representing carpal boss associated with a small superficial synovial cyst that located between the second and fourth extensor tendon compartments. 

Case Discussion

The carpal boss is a hypertrophied bony protuberance on the dorsal surfaces of the base of the second or third metacarpals, near the capitate and trapezium. It may be bilateral.
