Case Discussion

Carpal height ratio is used in the diagnosis and evaluation of carpal collapse.

Two methods can be used:

Youm method: Dividing carpal height measured in line with by the length of the third metacarpal.

Natrass method: Dividing carpal height measured in line with by the greatest length of the capitate.

Carpal height ratio allows quantification of the degree of carpal collapse in several wrist pathologies, such as SLAC, Kienböck disease...
