Cavernoma - caudate nucleus

Presentation

Asymptomatic, history of lung cancer.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Female
mri

Intra-axial lesion located in left caudate head partially protruding into the left lateral ventricle.

T2 hypointense hemosiderin ring, which is interrupted at the ependymal surface.

Signal drop off on SWI images.

No signs of intraventricular hemorrhage.

Case Discussion

Typical MRI features of a cavernoma. Follow-up and comparison with previous studies showed no change.
