The MRI sequences demonstrate a rounded well-defined lesion within the pons of inhomogeneous high signal intensity on T1WI, T2WI, and FLAIR, with peripheral rim of low signal (hemosiderin) and signal loss on GE. Minimal surrounding edema is noted. No enhancement seen on postcontrast sequences.
Case Discussion
MRI features characteristic of a cerebral cavernous venous malformation (cavernoma) type II according to Zabramski classification.
