A large mass with peripheral signal drop out and blooming on gradient echo sequence is located in the dorsal midbrain and compresses the aqueduct. A third ventriculostomy has been performed and as a result the ventricles are not very large although the corpus callosum remains thinned.
Typical appearances of a cavernous malformation, which was confirmed on biopsy at the time of third ventriculostomy.
