Presentation

Post day 8 ICU admission. Intubated in a previous episode of asystole.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

ct

Fat density at the posterior portion of both sides of the cavernous sinus. 

Otherwise, no acute intracranial hemorrhage. No hydrocephalus. Physiological calcifications of pineal glands, choroid plexus and bilateral basal ganglia. 

Case Discussion

It is normal for fat deposition at the cavernous sinus although it is uncommon. It is more prominent in obese patient or patient with Cushing syndrome or receiving exogenous steroid therapy.
