Vague abdominal pain
Patient Data
The portal vein is not visualized in the porta hepatis, instead collateral vessel formations are seen. Multiple esophageal, retro gastric, mesenteric, and rectal varices are noted.
The caudate lobe appears hypertrophied. Spleen is enlarged. Splenic vein is dilated.
Radio-dense stone is noted in the distal part of CBD causing dilatation of proximal intra-hepatic and extra-hepatic biliary channels.
Moderate ascites.
Multiple enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes. No ischemic changes in the bowel loops.
Case Discussion
Features are of cavernous transformation of portal vein and portal venous hypertension.
