Presentation

A known case of advanced cirrhosis.

Patient Data

Age: 25
Gender: Male

The portal vein is thrombosed and with the portal vein bed containing a cluster of serpiginous vessels extending into the liver. Liver cirrhosis, splenomegaly and ascites.

Case Discussion

Findings are consistent with cavernous transformation in a patient with previous thrombosis of the portal vein and cirrhosis.
