Cavitating right lower lobe tumour

Presentation

Shortness of breath and pleuritic chest pain

Modality: CT

Case Discussion

The CT confirms the presence of an 8cm cavitating mass in the right lower lobe.  Pleural thickening, but no chest wall invasion.  Ipsilateral bronchial lymphadenopathy and a 1.5cm subcarinal node.

Presumed squamous cell carcinoma.  Awaiting PET and biopsy.
