Cecal diverticulitis

A small colonic diverticulum arises from the anterior aspect of the cecum showing thick wall and surrounding fat plane smudging and enlarged pericolic nodes, in keeping with cecal diverticulitis.

Case Discussion
Right colonic diverticulitis is less common than sigmoid colonic diverticulitis.
Conservative treatment is recommended for right colonic diverticulitis, hence early correct diagnosis is important to prevent unnecessary laparotomy.
