Initial evaluation of acute abdominal pain and nausea

Case Discussion

Cecal volvulus was causing a small bowel obstruction which was confirmed during laparotomy. The bowel was partially ischemic and resected with a primary anastomosis. Early diagnosis is crucial to avoid severe bowel necrosis and requirement for further intervention.
