Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

There is a 45×41 mm solitary expansile lucent lesion in the alveolar ridge of the right maxilla that extends superiorly into the right maxillary sinus & nasal cavity. No associated impacted tooth is noted, although it appears to abut the apical regions of the ipsilateral premolar & molar teeth.

Mild mucosal thickening is seen at both maxillary sinuses and some ethmoidal air cells (Sinusitis).

S-shaped nasal septal deviation is present.

Case Discussion

Features on CT scan are most compatible with central giant cell granuloma (CGCG).
Odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) and less likely ameloblastoma could be considered in the differential list.
