mri

MRI of the brain of a young adult demonstrates a large heterogeneous intraventricular mass, mostly in the midline and right body of lateral ventricle. There is significant dilatation of the lateral ventricles (hydrocephalus) without transependymal edema.

The mass contains areas of cystic change, moderately restricts on DWI and demonstrates heterogeneous contrast enhancement.

Case Discussion

Features are fairly typical of a large central neurocytoma, which was histologically confirmed when resected.
