Central venous catheter inserted into left subclavian vein

Gender: Male

Left central venous catheter is seen in the left subclavian and axillary veins.

Case Discussion

ITU patient had a chest x-ray done as per protocol following central venous catheter insertion. The left central venous catheter is seen projected into the left subclavian and axillary veins. Ideally, the venous catheter should end within the superior vein cava, above its junction with the right atrium.
