Presentation
Occipital headache. No neurological deficits on examination.
Patient Data
An iso-to-hyperdense lesion appears to be in central cerebellum, with marked surrounding white matter edema.
A well defined ring enhancing lesion is seen with central cystic area in ther cerebellar vermis region.
Case Discussion
In view of solitary cystic lesion in midline of cerebellum, possibility of tuberculoma versus cystic glioma was considered. As lesion doesn't show any solid enhancing nodule, possibility of hemangioblastoma was less likely.
Spectroscopy through the region of interest (not included) was inconclusive and showed a contaminated spectrum.
Patient was operated, and histopathology revealed tuberculoma as final diagnosis.
