Cerebellopontine angle arachnoid cyst

Headache, incidental finding

Patient Data

Age: 10 years.
Gender: Female

There is a well-circumscribed CSF intensity lesion at the left cerebellopontine angle. No abnormal enhancement. The seventh and eighth cranial nerves are displaced anteriorly.

The ventricles are unremarkable in appearance with no evidence of hydrocephalus.

Case Discussion

The features, in this case, are related to an arachnoid cyst in a typical location for an epidermoid cyst. MRI with DWI sequence helps the differentiation between these two types.
