Cerebellopontine angle lipoma

There is a well-defined extra-axial mass of fatty density (mean density = -95 HU) at the left cerebellopontine angle, measuring 20 x 18 x 14 mm.

The left CPA mass shows a high signal on T1, T2 and FLAIR with signal dropout on fat suppressed sequences with low signal margin on FIESTA sequence due to chemical shift artifact. The facial nerve and vestibulocochlear nerve are coursing through it. No associated intravestibular lipoma is seen.

CT and MRI features of a cerebellopontine lipoma (incidental finding in this case).
The differential diagnosis includes mainly the lesions with high T1 signal:
- hemorrhagic vestibular schwannoma
- neurenteric cyst
- thrombosed berry aneurysm
- white epidermoid
- ruptured intracranial dermoid
