Cerebral abscess with ventriculitis

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Fever and altered conscious state for 2 weeks.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

There is a smooth thin ring-enhancing lesion with central restricted diffusion at the left frontal lobe, consistent with brain abscess.

Evidence of rupture into the lateral ventricle with intraventricular restricted diffusion content and mild enhancement along the ependymal lining are suggestive of ventriculitis.
