Cerebral air embolus

Case contributed by A.Prof Frank Gaillard

Post operative patient.

Focal and curvilinear hypodensities noted throughout the brain in a watershed distribution are presumably arterial in origin.

Case Discussion

This patient demonstrates the result of intra-arterial air embolus. The exact cause is uncertain aetiology. Multiple lines venous and arterial lines were however present.
