Cerebral arteriovenous malformation

Presentation

The patient is a 9 year-old male who presented with seizure.

Age: 9-year-old
Gender: Male

MRI Brain

Modality: MRI

There is a cluster of abnormal vascular structures in the left parietal lobe, those findings are compatible with a congenital AVM which is fed by branches of left anterior and middle cerebral arteries. There are multiple draining veins to the internal cerebral and gallen veins.

Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (CAVMs), also known as classic brain AVMs, are a common form of cerebral vascular malformation and are composed of a nidus of vessels through which arteriovenous shunting occur.
