Cerebral arteriovenous malformation

Case contributed by Fabio Macori

Presentation

Recurrent headache

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Non-contrast CT shows the presence of a hyperdense tubular mass within the right parietal lobe with dilated extra-axial vessels. No acute intracranial hemorrhage or cerebral edema noted. The ventricular system is not dilatated.

The arterial phase confirms the suspicion of a dilatated vessel.

Delayed CT shows the nidus of malformation with arterial supplying branch and dilated draining vein.
