Onset of headache with poor response to conventional treatment, which progresses to right-sided hemiparesis

Age: 11 years
Gender: Male

Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) at the level of the left basal nuclei, which causes deviation of the midline towards contralateral with a nutrient artery dependent on the M1 segment of the middle cerebral artery with drainage of the internal cerebral vein.

Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) are complex vascular anomalies composed of arteries and veins, they primarily include vessels of the leptomeninges, with extension into the grooves and fissures. These may include vascular territories deep cortex, midbrain, cerebellum and plexuses choroid.
