A posterior parietal intra-axial lesion with heterogeneous texture shows high signal areas on T1, T2 and FLAIR with a hypointense rim on T2 and FLAIR. The lesion shows blooming on T2*. No perifocal edema.
Case Discussion
Typical appearances of a cavernous malformation (Zabramski type 2) with a mixed signal intensity on T1 and T2 giving popcorn appearance due to subacute internal hemorrhage and a low signal intensity rim on T2 due to hemosiderin.
