Cerebral cavernous venous malformation (Zabramski type II)

Incidental finding.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Small, about 4 mm left pontine lesion centrally T2 hypointense, with a thin hyperintense rim. Marked SWI blooming, and no pathological contrast enhancement. Findings are in line with a Zabramski type II cavernous malformation

Other findings: small right nasopharyngeal Tornwaldt cyst and thickened mucosa of the right maxillary sinus.

Case Discussion

SWI is the most sensitive sequence for the detection of small cavernous malformation.
