Presentation

Severe right hemicranial headache

Gyriform cortical calcification in right occipital lobe. No evidence of surrounding edema, ipsilateral parenchymal atrophy or choroid plexus enlargement is however seen.

CT confirming the calcification.

Case Discussion

The patient did not have any facial angioma or any history of seizures. This kind of cerebral cortical calcification may represent an isolated leptomeningeal angioma or type 3 Sturge-Weber syndrome which is often seen in adulthood and presents with severe headache.
