4 cm left occipital lobe enhancing mass with extensive perilesional oedema causing effacement of the trigone of the lateral ventricle.
2.5 cm right frontal lobe rim enhancing mass with a necrotic centre, with perilesional oedema.
8 mm lesion peripherally in the right temporal lobe with minor perilesional oedema.
Case Discussion
The typical CT appearances of cerebral metastases. The degree of perilesional oedema can vary greatly. Lung (as in this case with a known history) and breast cancer are two of the most common primary malignancies as a cause for cerebral metastases.
