Cerebral tuberculomas

Presentation

Seizures, headache.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
MRI

Multiple conglomerated nodular lesions with T2 hypointense cores in right frontoparietal lobes with significant surrounding edema. Mass effect seen with partial effacement of posterior body of right lateral ventricle.   

Few similar conglomerate lesions are also seen superior to these lesions.

Post contrast study shows intense peripheral ring enhancement.

Lacunar infarcts and areas of ischemic demyelienation are seen in bilateral periventricular, deep and subcortical white matter.

Case Discussion

Multiple conglomerated ring enhancing nodular lesions with T2 hypointense cores in the right frontoparietal lobes with significant surrounding edema. Mass effect with partial effacement of posterior body of right lateral ventricle.

The patient being from an endemic area with the above imaging findings, the diagnosis of cerebral tuberculomas is most probable.
