Cerebral vasospasm

Case contributed by A.Prof Frank Gaillard

Presentation

Headache a few days ago.

Patient Data

Age: Adult
DSA (angiography)

The initial angiogram in a patient with a delayed presentation following a subarachnoid hemorrhage demonstrates a multi-lobed PCOM aneurysm on the right. The patient went on to have the aneurysm coiled, shown on the subsequent selected images.

Seen both pre and post coiling is marked vasospasm involving A1, M1 and M3 branches with smooth long segment severe stenosis. Spasm is also noted on the contralateral side.
