Presentation

Presented with painful torticollis. History of mild trauma to the neck and flu-like disease two week earlier.

Painful 3 cm mass on right side of his neck.

ultrasound

Ultrasonography reveals multiple variable size lymph nodes on the posterior triangle of right side of the neck and deep to the sternocleidomastoid muscle. There is a conglomeration of enlarged heterogeneous lymph nodes with loss of the central stripe and decreased color flow.

Case Discussion

This 9-year-old male presented to the emergency room with torticollis, which in itself is non-specific. After sonography demonstrated cervical adenitis the patient was placed on wide spectrum antibiotic. Now he is completely well.
