Cervical cystic lymphangioma

Presentation

Right cervical region swelling since birth which has shown gradual increase in size.

Patient Data

Age: 5 years
Gender: Female

A large, well defined, multi-loculated cystic lesion is seen in the right posterior cervical triangle extending to the right deep cervical spaces. No adjacent infiltrative or inflammatory changes. 

No encasement of the cervical major vessels.

Cervical cystic lymphangiomas, also called cystic hygroma, are a congenital lesion that mainly occurs in the posterior cervical triangle, as in this case.
