Preliminary
Procedure: 15ml of contrast was infused via Leech-Wilkinson catheter.
Findings:
- Spontaneous free peritoneal spillage of contrast from the right fallopian tube.
- No spontaneous free peritoneal spillage of contrast from the left fallopian tube despite IV Buscopan administration.
- The uterine cavity is normal.
- Prominent longitudinal folds at the wall of the cervical canal.
Impression:
- Patent right fallopian tube.
- Prominent longitudinal folds at the wall of the cervical canal likely cervical plicae palmatae
Case Discussion
Cervical plicae palmatae are normal folds seen on the anterior and posterior walls of the cervical canal. They are often described as longitudinal ridges or oblique elevation.
