Case Discussion

Normally, prevertebral soft tissues—both retrolaryngeal soft tissue and retropharyngeal soft tissue—measure less than 7 mm at C2 and less than 22 mm at C7, respectively. However, in this case, the retropharyngeal soft tissue appears more prominent than normal.

Further imaging and examinations in the oncology department confirmed laryngeal carcinoma (further examination results are not provided here).
