Presentation

Chronic cervical pain and paresthesias

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Well circumscribed intramedullary heterogeneous spinal lesion measuring 13 x 12.5 x 12 mm seen at C2 level with some focal cord expansion. It is showing a low-intensity signal rim on T2WI and popcorn appearance on T1 and T2WI. Blooming artifacts observed on SWI. Mild heterogenous post-Gad enhancement seen.

Case Discussion

Well defined intramedullary cervical spinal lesion showing blooming artifacts and popcorn appearances secondary to blood products of variable ages. This is in keeping with cavernoma.

This lesion was subsequently histologically confirmed to be a cavernoma
