The patient presented 7 weeks post fall complaining of upper cervical pain to his chiropractor.

The patient was referred on to hospital for a CT scan which confirmed fracture of the dens and axis.

Findings was added:

Lucencies through the posterior elements and indistinct anterior margin of odontoid seen. Degenerative mid and lower cervical region. Possible lucency across the base of the peg and unequal atlantoaxial joints with possible overhang on the left in the presence of degenerative change. Degenerative changes noted on the AP projection
