An irregular 'pannus' appearing isointense on T1W and hyperintense on T2W images is seen, with increased atlantoaxial distance.
Case Discussion
This case shows characteristic 'pannus' formation around the dens, and atlanto-axial dislocation in rheumatoid arthritis, with narrowing of the foramen magnum and impingement of cervicomedullary junction.
