Chiari II malformation

Diagnosis almost certain

Multiple findings including: 

  • partial agenesis of the corpus callosum - note the absence of the rostrum. 
  • very atrophic / gliotic low lying tonsils 
  • bowing of the clivus
  • small posterior fossa
  • tectal beaking

Case Discussion

This patient has known spina bifida (not shown). The features are, therefore, consistent with a Chiari II malformation
