Presentation

Signs of raised intracranial pressure with decreased vision.

Patient Data

Age: 12 years
Gender: Male

The MRI sequences demonstrate a lobulated suprasellar soft tissue mass centered on the optic chiasma and hypothalamic region with extension to the interpeduncular cistern and anterior portion of the 3rd ventricle. It displays a low signal on T1, high signal T2 with heterogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequences. Significant obstructive hydrocephalus is noted.

MRI features of a suprasellar soft tissue mass centered on the optic chiasma and hypothalamic region suggestive of chiasmatic/hypothalamic glioma with secondary obstructive hydrocephalus.
