Chronic right upper quadrant abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Anterior placement of the colon to the liver reaching the under-surface of the right hemidiaphragm. It is one of the common causes of pseudopneumoperitoneum. A small gallbladder stone is noted. Associated bibasal pneumonic consolidations and pleural reactions are seen.

Pain distinguishes Chilaiditi syndrome from asymptomatic colonic interposition, which is termed as Chilaiditi sign.
