Presentation

Abdominal mass.

Patient Data

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Modality: MRI

Large cystic dilatation of the common bile duct (CBD), measuring about 8 X 4.3 X 4.7 cm in its main axial and CC dimensions respectively. 

Mild dilatation of the central intra-hepatic biliary radicles.

Distended gall bladder.

Case Discussion

Choledochal cyst (type I biliary cystic disease) with mild dilatation of the central intra-hepatic biliary radicles.

Type 1 choledochal cysts account for the vast majority (80-90%) of cysts.
