Choledochojejunostomy

Cholecystectomy and porta hepatis surgical clips are noted. Choledochojejunostomy noted.
First, and to a lesser extent, second-order bile ducts are well opacified. Short stricture is noted at the confluence of the right anterior and posterior ducts, and left hepatic duct, just prior to anastomosis with jejunum with resultant mild pre-stenotic dilatation. There is free passage of contrast into the jejunum. No leak of contrast into the peritoneal cavity is noted. No filling defect.

Choledochojejunostomy is a procedure that can be applied for:
- palliative relief from jaundice secondary to pancreatic, duodenal or ligamental malignancy
- benign common bile duct, hepatic duct stones
- common bile duct injury (as in this case)
