Case Discussion

The images show a gallbladder full of stones (cholelithiasis). No features of acute cholecystitis are present.

Gallstones can cause chronic right upper quadrant pain.

Larger stones have been associated with gallbladder carcinoma (especially single large stones) while smaller stones can cause obstruction, cholecystitis and biliary colic.
