Soft tissue filling of the left mastoid and middle ear of low T1 and high T2 signal with restricted diffusion.
Case Discussion
Soft tissue filling of the left mastoid and middle ear with restricted diffusion most consistent with cholesteatoma.
Diffusion-weighted imaging is the only entity that demonstrates high signal intensity, which is useful to distinguish a cholesteatoma from other middle ear masses.
